Introducing House & Garden SA’s Brand New August 2024 Issue

Venture back with me, if you will, to the year 2000, when a magazine-obsessed pre-teen would save up her pocket money each month to buy the latest issues from the Condé Nast portfolio.

Traverse forward a few years more to when a bright-eyed and somewhat naïve young woman, fresh off the plane from studying abroad, wrote an email to House & Garden South Africa asking for an internship.

The internship was granted, and what followed was years of learning everything I now know under the guidance of iconic editor Liz Morris. My career took many twists and turns from then on, but one thing remained: my devotion and love for the magazine (or iPad version) you’re holding in your hands now.

The honour is not lost on me, and nor is the responsibility, of heading up one of South Africa’s leading decor and garden magazines, ensuring the wealth of marvellous talent our country has to offer is given the recognition it deserves.

Say what you want about us, but we’re a talented bunch on this continent.

Our August issue is a delectable flurry of sensorial nourishment as we look to delight and inspire every one of your five senses. I do hope you’ll come along with me for this next chapter, as I uncover and delight in the beauty that surrounds us - always remaining optimistic and inspired.
