This bright and bold Cape Town concept store is a treat for your furry friends
Pet lovers, listen up! The brand new House of Chommies concept store is now open. The beloved local brand has launched bigger and better than ever before. You may have seen their signature pet collars, with the distinct bright colours and woven rope. Now you can check out the wide range of products in their brand new shop, located in the heart of the Mother City.
While Chommies is known for being a lifestyle brand with colourful pet accessories that are both functional and chic, so it’s the ideal gift for a pet lover in your life. Now, the company has branched into textiles. You can have a look at the bold and bright knitted goods, which range from jerseys to beautifully soft throws that add a pop of colour to the space. It’s a great gift idea for anyone who loves a practical item that’ll last (sustainability first!)
Founder Nathalie Klijn says, ‘As we naturally evolve into more of a lifestyle brand that celebrates colour-happy contemporary design and artisanal luxuries made in South Africa, we wanted a feel-good, welcoming space that is a sensory experience for people and dogs alike, as well as one that gives us the opportunity to develop and showcase new products in home, fashion and accessories’
The brand has also expanded to include tid-bits for your beloved pooch, collaborating with local butcher Frankie Fenner Merchants to create human-grade dog treats. Perfect to take along for your next hike in the great outdoors!
While the space is beautifully designed and wonderful to look, pets are welcome to roam freely. Take a walk through the space to the gorgeous courtyard that feels like a little slice of quiet in the city. Best of all, it has a pet-friendly pond, benches and a spot for the humans to relax.
The new store is located at 110 Hatfield Street, Gardens in Cape Town and officially opens on 5 December. The store will operate from Monday to Friday, and you can check the site for more details on trading hours.
