This week, it was reported that Kanye West listed one of his two Wyoming ranches, and now word has surfaced via TMZ that Kim Kardashian West will get the pair’s $60 million Hidden Hills home in their divorce. The estate was purchased back in 2014 for $20 million—needless to say, it’s been substantially renovated since their move in.

Kardashian West once described the property as a “minimal monastery,” and that masterful simplicity can be credited to West himself, along with Axel Vervoordt, who worked with the “Power” rapper during the redesign process. From the high-end furnishings like a Jean Royère Polar Bear sofa and a limestone cocktail table designed by Vervoordt to the Venetian plastered walls, the house is almost entirely white, with extremely limited wood accents, and pops of green from plants and glimpses at the surrounding landscaping through the windows. The property, which AD toured in early 2020, is a testament to how evocative minimalist design can be. As West said about the unique space, “The proportions are the decoration.” Though the decor is extremely pared back, plenty of luxuries are available to the family on site, including a basketball court, a large pool, and lavish gardens designed by Wirtz International Landscape Architects.

“The one thing Kanye and I had in common was our preference for a neutral palette. I love the simplicity of the design. Everything in the outside world is so chaotic.” Kardashian West told AD. “I like to come into a place and immediately feel the calmness.” According to TMZ, the exes negotiated a buyout price so that it’s not a total loss for West.
