This Cape Town hotel is ready to welcome you and your pets
Holiday season means roadtrips, exploring the great outdoors and for some of us, it’s all about figuring out who is going to pet-sit. It can be tough to organise logistics of looking after your furry friends, house-sitting and the security or additional cost sometimes isn’t worth it. But if you’re going to the Mother City this summer, the SunSquare Cape Town Gardens is now open to hosting your beloved pets.
General Manager, Richard Keet, explains, “We understand that for many people, their pets are part of their family, so travelling without them is unthinkable,” he says. “The location and facilities at SunSquare Cape Town Gardens lend themselves to welcoming pets, so the decision to convert it to a pet-friendly hotel has been quite natural and involved a simple refurbishment.”
As mentioned before, it can be tough to find accommodation options that are pet-friendly. Often, it means that trawling through multiple Airbnb listings, hotel offerings or bed and breakfasts to determine what is a good fit.
“SunPets are invited to join their families on the terrace for breakfast, lunch or dinner (and everything in between) at our trendy Zepi restaurant,” says Keet.
And even if your pooch is a fussy eater - you can peruse the Gourmet Meal menu and pick a meal that’s both nutritious and conveniently packaged.
SunPet friendly rooms are available at an additional surcharge of R250 per room per night, with a once off R500 non-refundable payment per stay. You can visit the Southern Sun website to find out more about booking your next pet-friendly stay.
