Yes, these house plants are what you'll be seeing more of in 2023
The year is speeding on by and we’re already seeing trend forecasts for the upcoming year. Whether it’s colours for home or plants to love, there’s always something new to note. While you don’t have to opt into the trend cycle, it’s great to know what’s new and potentially might be a great fit for your home. We’ve rounded up some houseplants that will be all the rage for the upcoming seasons.
Bird of Paradise tree
Native to South Africa, most of us have grown up seeing this majestic tree in gardens around the country. But this statement plant is having a moment, and we’re in love. Indoor trees are popular once again, with YouTube star Emma Chamberlain having one right in her bedroom. Be warned, they do take up a lot of space, but it can be such a great way to add greenery to your home.
African Violet
These plants can bring along a sense of nostalgia, as they definitely have a retro feel (and may have been a mainstay in gardens you grew up in) but this plant is a favourite for a reason. The plants love a humid space and thrive in bright, warm conditions. The African Violet can flower often and come in a wide variety of colours that brighten up a space.
Prayer plants
Also known as the Maranta leuconeura, this tropical plant native to South America has been a solid fixture on the decor scene. The name comes from how the leaves fold up at night and resemble prayer hands. This plant thrives on tropical conditions and bright, indirect light. It can take a while to grow but definitely adds dimension to your space.
