Pantone’s Colour of the Year 2019, Living Coral, has been described as energetic, optimistic and spirited. A quick look at the colour and how it pairs with oceanic blue and aqua and you can see the potential of such an affirmative tone. The deep pinky peach colour has been chosen as the hue most likely to trend in 2019, and we have to say we’re loving the warmth and vivacity of Living Coral. Chosen by the team of colour experts and trend forecasters at Pantone, Living Coral is set to populate everything from your Instagram feed to the runways.

So how does Living Coral stack up when you apply it to interiors? While at first glance, it might seem like a tricky one to master, when we dug through our archives we found a myriad of ways to incorporate it into our lives. From soft, terracotta iterations to deep shades of peach and blush - we think Living Coral is a colour we can really get on board with.

Designer David Flack is no shrinking violet when it comes to colour and for this ’70s-inspired Melbourne home, he contrasted vibrant coral cushions with the green in an art work and vintage Gufram cactus – to incredible effect.

Gucci even got in on the coral trend for its Gucci Garden, which opened in January this year. Are you surprised the brand was ahead of the curve?
