Winter’s Tasty Miracle Broth
Bone broth, an ancient elixir, has been linked to curing infectious diseases, autoimmune disorders, digestive problems and many other chronic ailments. Besides the health benefits, bone broth is a tasty additive when cooking any kind of meal.
Regular bone broth is made with water simmered with meat, vegetables, spices and bones. The broth is then cooked for about two hours.
According to Angus McIntosh, of Farmer Angus, bone broth can be used when making a chicken or beef stew, soup, to add moisture to braised greens and used to cook rice or other grains. Take a look at his recipe for using beef broth with chicken below.
Beef Broth with Chicken
Ingredients
150g cooked chicken preferably leg meat
250ml bone broth
10g garlic chopped
10g chilli chopped
10g ginger chopped
5g coriander seeds chopped
15g diced mushrooms
10g spring onions chopped
50ml extra virgin olive oil
25ml rozendal vinegar
Method
:
Fry the spring onions, garlic, ginger, mushroom and chilli in the olive oil to light brown in colour. Add the cooked chicken then bone broth. Bring to the boil remove from heat and season with salt. Lastly, add the vinegar and coriander to serve.
