Designed by Angelina Kostina, the space is a tranquil retreat for a dynamic young couple with adventurous spirits. Through natural finishes, organic textures, and a warm earthy palette, the home seamlessly blends rustic charm with contemporary sophistication.
A Layout Designed for Flow and Functionality
The design, guided by the house's original architecture, divides the interior into public and private zones. The first floor boasts an open-plan living room, kitchen, and dining area, creating a harmonious gathering space.
Floor-to-ceiling panoramic windows invite nature indoors, framing breathtaking views and allowing abundant natural light to flood the space. A carefully crafted kitchen, based on principles of sacred geometry, enhances both aesthetics and functionality, with a continuous axis connecting key elements from the sink to the chandelier-lit dining area.
Upstairs, the private quarters house bedrooms, walk-in cupboards, and bathrooms. When the couple’s baby arrived, a guest room was thoughtfully transformed into a nursery. Symmetry and balance enhance convenience and comfort throughout the home.
Organic Materials and an Earthy Palette
The home’s colour scheme features warm terracotta, olive, and anthracite tones, enriched by the natural hues of stone and wood. Reclaimed wooden ceiling beams bring history and authenticity, while a fireplace clad in flexible slate and a floating dolomite shelf add striking textural contrast.
Handcrafted Furniture with Timeless Appeal
Kostina's custom woodwork elevates the interiors with bespoke dining tables, linen-panelled cabinets, and intricately carved dressers. Each element contributes to the home’s handcrafted, tactile allure, ensuring a seamless blend of sophistication and warmth.
