For Luxury Travellers, Check in to One Cape Verde’s Secluded Luxury Holiday Villas
Hues of brown, terracotta and ochra characterize the collection of 36 stone-clad Barefoot Luxury villas located in the sandy hidden bay of Cape Verde’s São Vicente island. The stone walls and neutral interior of the villas were masterminded by Antwerp-based studio Polo architects and Going East, designed to match the façade with the serene landscape of the hills and the deep blue of the sea and sky.
Guests have unobstructed views of the sea and maximum exposure to daylight, another considered element by Polo architects.
Each building is designed around an outdoor patio complete with a pool and kitchen area, with tall pergolas presiding over the sunbeds, wooden and concrete slabs running adjacent to one another to break the stone exterior.
For the interior, Going East added natural-tone furnishings, concrete surfaces and warm-timber wood furnishings to complement the rocky exterior. Going East explained, "Most of the furniture in the villas is made by local artisans.“ The Mindelo market were searched far and wide to source local artisinal materials and accessories.
Barefoot Luxury villas capture the laid-back essence of an Island paradise with the modern feel of a high-end boutique hotel secluded on a private beach. It’s a little slice of paradise.
