We constantly hear of famous artists and architects but have you ever wondered who the biggest names in interior design are?
A recent study by Design Bundles analysed 100 interior designers across the globe to discover the ten most sought-after in the world.
It also ranked the world’s Top 10 interior designers according to their Instagram followers and earnings, to find the biggest social media star amongst them.
When it comes to Google searches, designer and architect Phillip Starke is the most searched for interior designer in the world. Known for his eclectic transformations of hotels, yachts, and bars, he rakes in approximately 41 000 searches per month – five times more than the tenth most googled designer: Eric Kuster.
US-based designer and TV personality Nate Berkus came in second with 32 000 searches per month - well above the average searches for all designers on the list (20 990), including his husband, interior designer Jeremiah Brent.
Interior designer Bobby Berk, who stars in the Netflix show The Queer Eye, came in third on the list with 31 00 searches each month.
He also led the charge in Instagram influence. The designer has the biggest Instagram following with 2.8 million followers and commands an estimated US$7498 per sponsored post. This is nearly triple the average Instagram earnings of all ten designers.
Celebrity interior designer, who crafts the homes of stars including Cameron Diaz and Gwen Stefani, came in second with 1.6 million Instagram followers and an estimated $4 408 per sponsored post.
Other big names in the study include Belgian interior designer and art dealer Axel Vervoordt, who is known for working with Kanye West and Kim Kardashian on their minimalist-designed home. The designer came in 7th on the most Googled-list
