On Saturday, 26 April 2025, House & Garden invites you to a one-of-a-kind readers’ event set in the picturesque surrounds of Oude Libertas in Stellenbosch. This special occasion, presented in collaboration with the Stellenbosch Triennale 2025, promises an intimate, thought-provoking morning of outdoor art and design, featuring a curated walkabout and insightful discussion.
Limited to just 20–30 guests, the event begins with a guided walk through selected outdoor installations by Stellenbosch Triennale 2025 Assistant Curator, Dr Mike Tigere Mavura. His walkabout will explore the interplay between art and landscape - how placement, proportion, and scale affect how we perceive works in open-air settings, and the practicalities of maintaining them in such contexts.
Following the walk, guests will gather in the historic Oude Libertas auditorium for a vibrant panel discussion. Moderated by House & Garden’s own Heidi Bertish, the panel will feature curators, art experts and other creative voices, including artist Simphiwe Ndzube, whose work is part of this year’s Triennale, and Andi Norton from the Triennale team. Together, they will delve deeper into the magic of integrating creativity with landscape.
Guests will enjoy a celebratory glass of bubbly or a gin cocktail, along with tea, coffee and a selection of sweet and savoury treats.
Every attendee will also receive a curated gift bag worth over R500 from House & Garden, featuring the latest magazine issue, a Sand Candle gift set, an Okhra tapered candle duo, a Pripear skincare roll-on, and an Amanda Jayne handwash to elevate your self-care ritual at home.
Tickets are limited and booking is essential.
