Working outside of the traditional office environment and completing tasks on the move has become so mainstream that the coolest designer co-working spaces have been popping up around the country. Although designed for work, these spaces are also so much more the average office space. Take a look at the four trendiest co-working spaces in the country below.
Inner City by Ideas Cartel
Inner City is Ideas Cartel’s office space and coworking element which was established in Cape Town in 2013. The idea behind it was to offer scalable workspace solutions to entrepreneurs, start-ups and larger scale businesses, with a selection of office space solutions and memberships at various locations in Cape Town.
The Inner City offices feature design elements such as deep button Chesterfields and handmade desks and allow clients to curate their own office spaces according to their needs. What makes Inner City extra special is that they provide additional elements to their clients such as exclusive member lounges and bars, like the Founders’ Lounge at their Loop Street venue.

Glee At Work
Cape Town’s Glee At Work is a trendy co-working space that has been designed and built by Glen and Fee Ainsworth in partnership with local carpentry talent, Bheki Dlamini. The pay-as-you-go co-working space offers clients a flexible payment plan that works for entrepreneurs, start-ups or freelancers.
The working spaces boast a rainbow of playful colours and eye-catching artwork. The façade of glass lets in natural light which is perfectly accompanied by furniture, interior walls and ceilings made of timber. Indoor plants bring an extra natural edge and lightness to the office giving it more of a hotel feel than that of a corporate environment.
