Drawing inspiration from New York’s eclectic mix of new and old buildings, this pre-war apartment in Manhattan underwent a complete renovation to transform its dated and choppy spaces into a home that’s contemporary and functional. This apartment is a palatial retreat for the discerning, where soft textiles intertwine with the artful geometry of sculptural design.

An Approachable and Lux Johannesburg Home

Incorporating his signature earthy hues and love for local talent, interior designer, Donald Nxumalo created a welcoming family home in Joburg that is both approachable & luxurious. A Sprawling Bishopscourt Family Home

Informed by its family, this Bishopscurt home was crafted to exude peaceful living and old-world charm. Together, our Decor Editor Edwain Steenkamp and Garden Editor Heidi Bertish guide us through this magnificent home featuring unique spaces like a cigar lounge that serves as a place of relaxation and is also used for meetings or a chic powder room where bold prints make the guest bathroom come alive with character.

Surrounded by breathtaking green vistas, the home is at one with nature, giving the family endless views of the Cape. Photography by Greg Cox.

An Audacious, Over the Top Home

While many of us are accustomed to find beauty in minimal simplicity with the odd pattern or textured touch, there is also a time and place for lavish spaces reminiscent of Middle Eastern opulence. This Bel Air homes is an exact testament to that: Triple-height ceilings, Corinthian columns, and abundant natural light. This home seamlessly blends grandeur with practicality, opulence with comfort.
