That’s Amore

'Made in Italy' certainly has a ring to it, even more so when you can say it about your own kitchen. Officine Gullo kitchens merge tradition with innovation to create timeless culinary spaces — 'the quintessential kitchen', as they put it.

Known for pushing the boundaries of design and art in architecture, the Florentine brand manages to seamlessly incorporate unexpected colours, metal finishes, diverse materials and unique settings into its creations, ensuring every kitchen is as distinctive as it is functional. From sophisticated outdoor setups to airy coastal retreats and rustic attic conversions, each space exudes unparalleled refinement.

Brass finishes, intricate detailing and state-of-the-art appliances are hallmarks of their approach, celebrating both aesthetic beauty and cutting-edge utility. These kitchens are not just places to cook; they are masterpieces of design and artistry.

Contemporary Cool

For a young Johannesburg family with two daughters, La Grange Interiors designed and crafted a sophisticated yet functional kitchen that perfectly reflects their love of cooking and entertaining.

The centre piece of the space is a striking black Lacanche cooker, sourced from France through The Culinary Equipment Company, complemented by custom cabinetry with brass accents and clean, classic lines. Floating oak shelves and a sculptural extractor hood add warmth and subtle texture to the pared-down design.

The kitchen’s inviting layout flows seamlessly into a dining area featuring a natural wood table, leather upholstered chairs with black metal frames and a statement light-grey Ash pendant light. This bespoke kitchen, designed and manufactured in-house, effortlessly balances practicality with timeless elegance, creating the perfect hub for family life and social gatherings.

The neutral colour palette serves as a timeless canvas, allowing the textural interplay of surfaces to shine while ensuring versatility. Complementing this are bold statement lighting fixtures that not only enhance the ambiance but also add a sculptural element to the designs.
