With the Bridgerton prequel set to be released on 4 May, many fans of the Netflix series are gearing up to sink their teeth into the binge-worthy Regency show. Set in the 1800s, there is something so compelling about the series, from the stunning attire, to beautiful decor, and more. If you’re a huge fan of the show and looking to create a Bridgerton aesthetic in your living room, we have five tips for you.
1. Antique Georgian furniture
Incorporate antique furniture into your space to match the Regency aesthetic portrayed in the show. Peruse your second-hand store to see which essential pieces you can find. Start with one or two pieces and then build from there.
2. Patterned wallpaper
Bridgerton features a wide array of chic patterned wallpaper. Therefore, if you’re serious about adopting the aesthetic, a floral or patterned look in your own space is a must. Be creative in your choices of wallpaper and make the look your own.
3. Gorgeous pastels
If you’re looking to integrate the look of the Bridgerton family specifically, pastels are the way to go. Lighter shades of blue and lilac represent the calmness of the clan and will give your space a relaxed atmosphere. Shades of pale blue complemented by other neutrals, such as sandy beige, could work wonders. Play around and find what works for you and the overall colour and atmosphere you are looking to incorporate into your living room.
4. Statement mirror
Add a majestic mirror or two to your living room to give the space a touch of splendour. Use mirrors with gorgeous, opulent framing to truly embrace the era. During the Regency period, only the wealthiest families were able to afford statement mirrors. Integrating a mirror or two into your living room will have your place looking luxurious and on theme with the Bridgerton aesthetic.
5. Antique decor
In addition to your furniture being antique and full of character, try and add smaller antique decorative elements to your space. Use statement vases with fresh flowers, stunning side tables, or beautiful tasseled cushions for your couches. It is not necessary to overload your space. Start with one or two pieces and ascertain whether they work for your space before adding any additional decor.
