As the days get warmer and the sun gets brighter, South Africa comes to life with the bright orange and yellow fields of floral heaven that grace our dreams all through winter. Now that spring is finally here, our dreams have come to life, because there is bursting colour every way you turn, so radiant it is almost hypnotic.

This season our surrounds are filled with purple, reflecting the brilliance of the Buddleja Salvifolia. Nicknamed the ‘Butterfly Bush’, this plant is covered in bright purple flowers, letting off a sweet scent that attracts masses of butterflies every year. Not only is this flower the perfect spring garnish, but it’s great in a summer cocktail. Adding a floral touch to your gin cocktail is a sure Fire way to infuse flavour and make it look like your bar tending skills are on point. After all, the warmer seasons are for spending time outdoors, soaking up the rays and enjoying a sundowner.

So, let your dreams bloom with this refreshing spring cocktail.
