Chef de Patron Peter Tempelhoff, Executive chef Ashley Moss and restaurant industry expert Jennifer Hugé will officially open the doors to their gourmet restaurant, FYN, in November 2018.

The restaurant that has been a dream ‘simmering on the backburner’ for 22 years is said to be the key to changing the way gourmands perceive dining out in Cape Town’s CBD.

Tempelhoff recently ranked number 134 out of the best 300 chefs around the world on 2018’s Best Chef Awards list. The South African born chef is also the creative Executive Chef at The Greenhouse restaurant, at the Cellars Hohenort hotel in Constantia.

The new restaurant boasts incredible views of Lion’s Head and Table Mountain and what Tempelhoff describes as a ‘distinctive lower Manhattan feel’, which he absolutely loves.

His restaurant partners, Executive chef Ashley Moss, who has been Tempelhoff's head chef at The Greenhouse for the past four years will be in charge of the kitchen while Jennifer Hugé, who has been the restaurant manager at La Colombe for 14 years, will be the general manager.

The team has not revealed anything about their menu and wine selection as yet but has shared that the cuisine draws inspiration from South Africa’s culture, lore and society as well as Tempelhoff’s travels.

What makes this launch even more intriguing is their first come first serve online reservation process, making us even more curious about what to expect at from Cape Town’s latest fine dining addition. For more information check out www.fynrestaurant.com.
