Looking for a spot to enjoy some delicious Italian food? Make sure you add Cape Town-based ARIEL Modern Italian to your list when you’re visiting the Mother City. The chic eatery on Regent Road has cemented itself as a favourite with locals. The restaurant opened on and for a brief time shared space with the ever popular Jarryd’s. But this summer, ARIEL is relaunching in it’s own space on Regent Road, not too far from it’s original location - in fact, it’s next door.

If you’ve been wanting to try some authentic Italian cuisine, there’s plenty to choose from. The menu includes pasta dishes like lamb ragu parpadelle, a host of antipasto and of course, classics like Neopolitan pizza. Make your way through the courses from buoni prodotti (roughly translated to ‘good products’) to the extensive wine menu. The restaurant has wine made in Italy by Italian producers to some of the Cape’s finest. Alternatively, just enjoy a negroni, sbagliato or not.
And just in time for the warmer seasons, ARIEL aims to offer that relaxed dining experience with high quality ingredients. The eatery has also branched out to host events, like the recent Women in Wine affair, which invited women for a night out sampling local wines with their delectable Italian fare.
